Beyonce is developing a film project about her life.

The award-winning singer will direct and produce a documentary-style film to release in theaters nationwide similar to what other pop stars have put out. Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry have all brought movies to the screen that follows their life in the music business.

Daily Mail reports that the "Love on Top" singer has been shooting an edited 20-minute version to several movie studios to secure a distribution deal.

Like Perry's documentary "Katy Perry: Part Of Me," the film will provide clips from past concerts, never-released backstage footage and exclusive interviews. It will focus on the release of her 2011 album "4."

The 30-year-old will also offer a sneak peek into her personal life by including her husband Jay- Z and their daughter Blue Ivy.

Beyonce teased her fans with a hint that they could become involved in an undisclosed upcoming project of hers.

"Leave Your Footprint on 19 August 2012, which could be linked to the documentary," she wrote.

The former Destiny's Child member's previous film experience includes her MTV documentary "Beyonce: Year of 4."

She played Etta James in "Cadillac Records," the lead of a female singing group in "Dreamgirls", and starred opposite Mike Meyers in "Austin Powers in Goldmember."
