'Batman v Superman' Movie 2016: Robin Rumored To Be Female In Film, Played By 'Hunger Games' Actress? [VIDEO]
There are new rumors that Robin (of Batman and Robin) will not only be featured in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice but the character will also be a female.
Ben Affleck's Batman 'Towers Over' Henry Cavill's Superman
One of the extras on Batman v Superman revealed to news station WILX News 10 (via ComicBook) in Michigan that Robin appears in the script for the film and the character is female. If this is true, it would be huge news for Batman fans considering Robin has never been depicted as a female in a live action movie or TV series.
Another related rumor floating around is that The Hunger Games actress Jena Malone will be playing Robin in the film. She dyed her hair red and posted a photo on Instagram two weeks ago, causing much speculation:
Wonder Woman Set To Be A 'Demigod' In Batman v Superman
So far there has been no confirmation that Malone will play Robin, nor is there any confirmation from Warner Bros. that Robin is appearing in the film at all. With this news out, it is possible that they may confirm the news in the weeks to come.
Ben Affleck (who is playing Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) are leading an all star cast in Batman v Superman that also includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth. Other Justice League members like Aquaman (Jason Momoa) are also expected to cameo.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on March 25, 2016.
