David Clarke's midnight murder attempt gave his daughter a brief glimpse at his bearded visage, and Nolan's ill-advised meddling (who actually reports a crime to the cops? How absurd.) will place Mr. Clarke in a police lineup (see video below).

Despite his 20-year absence and his alleged death, Emily will still have the ability to recognize dear old dad. How she will react, however, is still a mystery.

When the pair does reunite, their dynamic will be very different from the tight father/daughter bond of Emily's childhood.

"I think the audience will be surprised by the dynamic between Emily and David as they get to know each other because there's a tentativeness there, there's information and there are questions they'll both have about the other one and so I think that there'll obviously be a warmth because there's a connection that is unbreakable that we've seen in the past, but the way that it's plays out in the present will be very different," said showrunner Sunil Nayar, according to TV Fanatic.
