The set of Showtime's Penny Dreadful can get a bit grim, and that's just how the cast and crew like it.

'Penny Dreadful' Goes Medieval For Season 2
O'Neill's role on the series has yet to be confirmed, though based on the amount of time she's spent with Make Up Designer and Key Prosthetic Makeup Artist Sarita Allison onset, it's possible she is one of the drama's latest creature. In addition to some "bloody" fun filming upcoming episodes for the program, director James Hawes teased fans with an image of a human skull, which happens to be one of many prop skulls they have on set this season.
On top of the director's monitor. Look what happened to my last assistant... #PennyDreadful @SHO_PR @skyatlantic pic.twitter.com/blagcE9IWo — James Hawes (@JamesEHawes) October 17, 2014
Producer Christopher King shared an image in Twitter back in August which featured a table lined with such skulls. More than likely, Hawes got his skull from amount these.
