'Fast and Furious 7' News: Director James Wan Is 'Proudest' Of The Movie, Which Was Also The 'Hardest' To Make [VIDEO]
In a recent interview, director James Wan dished about his experience working on Fast and Furious 7, stating that while it was very difficult to make, it was also the one he was proudest of.

Speaking to Collider, Wan spoke about how taking on such a massive project was a first for him, with the budget and scale of filming. Wan is mostly known for his indie-horror and thriller films like the Saw series, Insidious series, and The Conjuring.
"The size of the budget doesn't make that much of a difference because the kind of issues I have on a low budget film I I have on a big budget film as well, but they're just much bigger. It doesn't matter how big or small your film is, you still don't have enough money," he said "You don't have enough time to shoot it. When you're making a bigger movie you have much bigger set pieces that require more time and more effort and more people. But Fast 7 is definitely the hardest movie I've had to do in my career. And it's not just me. Neil Mortiz [the film's producer] has been doing this for a long time and is a very successful, seasoned producer and he said that to me too. That Fast 7 is the hardest movie he's ever had to make as well in his entire career. And it's very true. But I think the final product will surprise a lot of people. It's that hardest film I've ever had to make but it's also the one I'm proudest of. I'm really proud of this film."

Wan also had to abandon Insidious Chapter 3, as he had taken Fast and Furious 7 up. The third movie is now being directed by Leigh Whannell, who was his writing partner on the first two Insidious films and the Saw series. Wan recently stated that he trusted Whannell to do justice to the franchise.
"Well, it was a lot easier for me to walk away from it, because once again, I feel like Leigh is there to look after it," he said in a recent interview with IGN. "I really trust him as a creative person -- not just as an actor or a writer or a director -- I really believe him as a creative person. I think, I know, I've seen what he has done, and he's basically taken the world that I've created, and he's kept it in the same universe, but he's also put his own stamp on it too. So I'm very proud of what he has done with Insidious 3, and I think the fans will love the continuation that Leigh is taking with it.
Fast and Furious 7 will take off from where Fast and Furious 6 left off. James Wan took over the director's role from Justin Lin, who announced earlier in the year that he will step away from directing the franchise.
The cast for the seventh instalment reprising their roles include Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Luke Evans, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Jordana Brewster. UFC Womens Bantam weight champion Ronda Rousey and ONG Bak star Tony Jaa will also star in the film.
Fast and Furious 7 will hit theaters in April 3, 2015.
