Grande has been cast to play Franz in the Broadway musical Rock of Ages, according to a new People report. While Grande has appeared on Broadway before, this is a dream role for the 31-year-old.

"I'm so unbelievably excited," Grande said, of the news. "I have wanted to play Franz ever since I first saw the show. I think it is one of the best, funniest, most clever roles."

Rock of Ages, which features covers of many '80s rock hits, has been on Broadway since 2009 and spawned its own movie of the same name in 2012. Grande auditioned for the role of Franz multiple times and said that he had "three final callbacks," though every time "they went with the other guy."

Grande, who is pop star Ariana Grande's brother, was certainly a memorable contestant on this summer's Big Brother 16. One of the more significant moments in the house was when he got the news that his grandfather had passed away. Frankie told People that he is helping out his family in preparation for a special service for his grandfather.

"It's been great to see my unbelievable family. It has been a very happy and cathartic few weeks," he said. "I've been spending time with my [grandmother] going through my grandfather's closet and preparing for his celebration of life, which we are having next month."

Frankie is set to perform in Rock of Ages from Nov. 11-Jan. 18 at the Helen Hayes Theatre in New York, N.Y. He said that he will be inviting his "showmance partner" Zach Rance, another contestant on BB16, to opening night in the front row.
