London 2012 Track and Field: Men's 100M Finals; Sunday at 4:50PM EST

The London 2012 Track and Field events have kicked off and viewers can expect an exciting week of sprints and hurdles. One of the most anticipated events at the Olympics Track and Field games, is the Men's 100 Meter Dash finals that will take place on Sunday, August 5, at 4:50PM EST.
Favorites in the London 2012 Track and Field event include Jamaica's Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake, and Asafa Powell. Other runners to look out for in the Men's 100M Dash are Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin of the United States.
Usain Bolt qualified for the Men's 100M Dash semi-finals with a run of 10.09 seconds. The star Olympian will be running to defend his position as the World's Fastest Man.
What has made the 100M dash even more exciting is that the London Olympic stadium track in east London has proven to be super fast since the Track and Field events commenced on Friday, and many are predicting world records will fall en mass throughout the second week of the Games.
Bolt is used to breaking world records, and he will be looking to defeat his own world record in the 100M race.
The gold medal in the Women's 100 Meter Dash was awarded to Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica. The winner clocked in at 10.75 seconds during the finals that took place on August 4.
