Supernatural will bring back an old familiar face in "Paper Moon," and it looks like Kate the werewolf will be struggling to find a healthy balance between her human and monster sides.

The Winchester bros. let the college werewolf walk after season 8's "Bitten," but they may come to regret that decision in the upcoming Adam Glass-penned episode.

"It's something I've been asking since last season: what happened to Kate (Brit Sheridan)?" Glass told ScreenFad. "She walks off like Bill Bixby in the Incredible Hulk and we're like 'what's been her story?', so we have to catch up with her and see what she's been up to and she pulls us into a case. So it'll be really, really fun to see her again and the actress who plays her just did an amazing job and we're excited, excited, excited for that episode."

Kate will arrive at an interesting time for Sam and Dean. The werewolf killings will be the hunters' fist case back after Dean's little demon disaster, and Kate's problems will echo the brothers' current psychological state as they try to reconcile the dark paths they followed over the last few months.

"Her experience, as great Monster of the Week episodes always do, reflects basically where the boys are at emotionally right now," Glass told TV Line. "So it will be them looking at themselves in the mirror through Kate and what's happening in her experience."
