'Suicide Squad' Rumors: Jesse Eisenberg May Return As Lex Luthor In The Movie, Would Tie It To 'Batman v. Superman' [VIDEO]
It looks like DC is going to take a page out of Marvel's playbook and do a little crossover that would tie together their next two movies using one single character. But is a hero showing up or will one of the bad guys be getting a supporting role in the movie?
Will Smith, Ryan Gosling Locked In To Play These Superheroes?
Deadline reported on Friday that Warner Bros. is in talks with Jesse Eisenberg to reprise his role as Lex Luthor in Suicide Squad, which comes out in late 2016, following Batman v. Superman where he will first appear.
Eisenberg will be making his debut as the arch nemesis of Superman in the team-up movie that is happening in March 2016, but could be a tie between that movie and Suicide Squad, which could feature big name actors but non-recognizable faces.
Will Smith & Ryan Gosling To Lead The 'Suicide Squad' For DC Comics?
The only issues facing the actor is his commitment to be in Hangover director Todd Phillips' Arms and the Dudes, which Eisenberg was expected to star in. With the actor committed to star in Now You See Me 2, it would put the film in danger as it will be in production at the same time as Suicide Squad.
Suicide Squad follows a group of supervillains are brought together to tackle high-risk black ops missions for the government. This is one in the growing universe of DC properties and getting this duo would be the makings of a pretty good mission movie.
The film is directed by David Ayer and has names like Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Tom Hardy attached to it as of now.
