'Captain America 3' Movie Rumors: Hank Pym Might Join Up With Iron Man, 'Ant-Man' Character Has Major Role In The Comics [VIDEO]
There are going to be a lot of superheroes appearing in the next Captain America movie, but could one of them be a new addition to the Marvel cinematic universe?
How Will 'Ant-Man' & 'The Incredible Hulk' Tie Into 'Captain America 3?'
One name that is prominent on Tony Stark's side during the Civil War plot is Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas in Ant-Man, who sides with Iron Man and helps him develop technology to use during the war.
In the comics, Pym is Yellowjacket instead of Ant-Man, helps create a cybernetic clone of currently missing Thor to battle the anti-registration heroes. With Thor off in Asgard, this clone poses as the hero and is on the side of Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, and Pym against the ant-registration heroes.
Robert Downey Jr. Teases 'Captain America 3'
It is unclear if Douglas has a multi-film deal with Marvel or if they will include Ant-Man at all until the Avengers movies, but they could always substitute Pym for Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) who will be the real star of the film.
As of now, it will be Iron Man on one side with Captain America and his possible new team of Avengers on the other side during the film. Stark is being set-up as the possible villain for the movie as it sets up the Civil War plot for the cinematic universe moving forward into the next few Avengers movies.
It will be curious how much Marvel plays by the comics in the movie and whether they will include figures like Pym or Spider-Man, if they get the rights, to the film to make it more like the story.
Captain America 3 is set to open in theaters on May 6, 2016.
