In the time when the Independent Woman era is still going strong, KISS musician Gene Simmons told ladies they should live life as if men do not exist.

The rocker made an appearance on Fox News Friday and spoke with Andrea Tantaros to promote his new book Me, Inc.: Build An Army Of One, Unleash Your Inner Rock God, Win In Life and Business. It was then that he explained his thoughts on women having their own identity.
"This is a very complex and difficult question to answer so I'm going to put it as simply as possible. Women: Stop depending on men. It's as simple as that. Imagine there are no men in life. Find out that thing that you're good for that makes the money and then get married and or have children from a position of strength," he said.

Simmons tied the knot with his now wife Shannon Tweed in 2011. However, the two had been together for 28 years. While he suggests women have a selfish period in their life, he confessed he wished he would have wed sooner.
"It is a massive failing for me that I didn't recognize the purity and sanctity of love," he said. "Why I didn't marry Shannon when I first met her and dropped head over heels with her is the stupidity and arrogance and selfishness of man."
Simmons' book is on shelves now.
