The Doctor Who season 8 finale is coming, and it looks like the two-part episode will through viewers for a loop.

The Twelfth Doctor's (Peter Capaldi) problems are mounting as Cybermen, a malicious Clara (Jenna Coleman), and the Gatekeeper of the Nethersphere converge in "Dark Water" and "Death in Heaven." While the series' finale promo mashes up the events of the two episodes, it appears fans won't have to worry about flying cybermen until the latter episode.
However, both of the Rachel Talalay-directed episodes will focus more on the dangerous relationship between the Doctor and his companion.
"Quite a strong emotional story to this [episode]," explained showrunner Steven Moffat, according to SFX (via CultBox). "It's about Clara and the Doctor and the fact that the way they interact might not be healthy for everyone around them."
Meanwhile, Capaldi has hinted that Clara will be in even more danger then viewers may expect.
"I've read [that Jenna Coleman] may be leaving at Christmas, but I don't even know if she'll get to Christmas," Capaldi explained, according to Doctor Who TV. "You've got to just watch [Season 8] and wait and see what happens ... The work she has done this season is extraordinary because she's called upon to do things that I don't think any other companion has had to do."
