With three of the four leading cast members announced, HBO still has one more name to reveal for the second season of True Detective.

Taylor Kitsch Lands Major Role On HBO's 'True Detective'

While the casting process seems to have taken longer than the network had led fans to believe, Season 1 star Michelle Monaghan claims things are close.

"I saw those guys a few nights ago. I'm really excited," the actress revealed to E! on Tuesday. "I saw the creator, Nic Pizzolatto, two nights ago and they're hard at work."

'True Detective' Season 2 Casting Rumors

While Monaghan won't be this season's leading lady, she's thrilled to see the crime drama's second season come together. There have been a number of actresses rumored for this year's female role, from Jessica Chastain (Mama, The Help) to Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss. Nothing has been confirmed yet of course, but that should change within the next month.

"They're getting reading to start production in three weeks," claimed Monaghan. "They're very excited."

With production approaching, a fourth name is bound to be on the horizon. So far the confirmed cast for the breakout hit's new season includes Collin Farrell (Minority Report, Saving Mr. Banks), Vince Vaughn (Into the Wild, Wedding Crashers), and Taylor Kitsch (Wolverine, Lone Survivor). Pizzolatto will write the full season, with a number of different directors stepping in throughout the show's run. Taking place in California, little is known about the new episodes other than the fact that they will center around government corruption and a sudden murder.

True Detective returns to HBO for a second season mid-2015.
