A new photo from the fourth season of Switched at Birth has been revealed that shows Daphne caught up in a scene with a newcomer.

First Two Episodes Of 'Switched At Birth' Season 4 Get Titles

On Thursday, series creator Lizzy Weiss posted the image of Katie Leclerc (Daphne) as she stands outside on grass where she looks like she's doing sign language. She's communicating with a new character named Vimla played by Rana Roy, who stands in front of her with a folder in her hands.

Weiss captioned the picture, "Behind the scenes of Season 4 #SwitchedatBirth - @katieleclerc mixes it up with newcomer Vimla played by @Rana_roy1."

This photo leaves a lot to the imagination since it looks like the girls are just talking, but it seems to imply that Vimla will have some sort of connection with Daphne. But it could very well easily lead to trouble since that's basically what the series is known for.

Another new character is about to join the series played by My So-Called Life actress Bess Armstrong. She will play Daphne's pre-med professor who might be one to watch out for based on the way The Hollywood Reporter described her. She's also going to be a major character so there's another intense story that will likely take place.

Switched at Birth Season 4 is expected to begin in early 2015, but the Christmas special will air on Monday, December 8 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC Family.
