Penny Dreadful has only had one season on Showtime so far, but already star Eva Green is a contender for the 2015 People's Choice Awards.

Editing 'Penny Dreadful' Season 2 Is A Disaster

Green (Vanessa Ives) is one of the 15 actresses listed for potential nomination under Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV actress for the upcoming People's Choice Awards.

While the list of nominees has yet to be narrowed down, the fact that Green is even listed in impressive given the fierce popularity of her competition. Other actresses in the category include Emilia Clarke for HBO's Game of Thrones, Nina Dobrev for The CW's The Vampire Diaries and Lena Headey for Game of Thrones.

Penny Dreadful is also a contender for Favorite Cable Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show, which is no small feat given its more seasoned competition. AMC's The Walking Dead and the ever-popular Game of Thrones will also be competing in this category.

Green has had an exceptional year, receiving high praise for the Victorian supernatural drama and debuting as then "dame to kill for" in the Sin City sequel earlier this year.

Having battle demonic possession and heartbreaking loss as Miss Vanessa Ives, Penny Dreadful could do for Green what Showtime's Dexter did for Michael C. Hall or HBO's Boardwalk Empire did for Steve Buscemi, allowing a talented performer to reach new potential.

Voting for the 2015 People's Choice Award winners will begin on Nov. 4.

Penny Dreadful returns to Showtime for a second season in 2015.
