The Magic Mike actor will take on the role of Dr. Joey Chavez, according to Deadline.

An Air Force vet from the Iraq war, Chavez will be offered the position of trauma surgeon at San Antonio Memorial Hospital. The newest member of the night shift, Deadline reports that Chavez's experience in Iraq will lead him to put an Eastern spin on his medical practices. It remains to be seen what TC (Eoin Macken) will have to think of his new colleague's approach.
The Night Shift will resume filming this November, but first Rodriquez will need to wrap up work on Magic Mike XXL.
