The next X-Men movie could be bringing the biggest punch to the line-up since Wolverine joined up in the first film if the report is true and the mutant joins the team.

Screen Rant spoke with Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld on Monday about the Deadpool movie and another character, Cable, who he says is headed to the X-Men movie very soon.
"Cable is awesome. And he will...when he appears on screen, we're all going to nerdgasm, because he's coming. They can't hold him back. He's coming," Liefeld said.
Magneto Getting His Own Film? Recent Trends Could Push Fox To Make It
Cable is a mutant that has been heavily rumored, and even briefly mentioned by writer Simon Kinberg, as being involved in the next movie especially with Apocalypse being the largest villain the X-Men have ever faced. It also could set-up the spin-off, X-Force, which would have the character leading the team that included Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool.
It will be interesting how they involved the time-traveling Cable into the plot since his father, Cyclops, is set to be re-introduced into the series with a younger actor taking on the role from James Marsden.
Screen Rant seems unsure if Cable will join the team during the film or if he will be apart of a post-credits teaser to set-up X-Force or a team-up with Deadpool, but it would seem likely that Fox will introduce him in the upcoming film to get him accustomed with audiences before allowing him to lead a team in a new movie.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set to open in theaters on May 27, 2016.
