ABC's Castle is about to present a potential "game changer" as the first half of Season 7 concludes in December.

Castle showrunner David Amann spoke with Entertainment Weekly recently and teased what was ahead for the next four episodes of the season, including the very special Christmas episode.

"We may have a bit of a game-changer in terms of what's happening with Castle [Nathan Fillion], so we'll be doing, unlike past seasons, we'll be doing a little bit of a cliffhanger coming off that episode as we come back in January," Amann previewed of Episode 10, titled Bad Santa. "So there'll be something that happens toward the end of that episode that's going to change the outlook as we come into the new year for Castle and Beckett [Stana Katic]."

'Castle' Showrunner Confirms Whether Or Not Rick-Kate Wedding Is For Real This Time

While fans may speculate that this has to do with Castle and Beckett's relationship, Amann assures that the pair is not getting divorced.

The big wedding is set to go down in Episode 6, which airs Nov. 10, called The Time of Our Lives. Amann previewed that this episode will be "incredibly romantic."

Fans felt gipped after the Season 6 finale, which featured Castle and Beckett getting ready to get married before the former got involved in a fiery car wreck. The mystery surrounding this event will be addressed again at some point in this season, though it won't drastically change things with Castle.

"We don't regard what happened to Castle as some kind of time bomb that's going to go off and mess up their relationship or fundamentally change who he is as a character," Amann noted. "It's just an aspect of mystery that he is irresistably going to be drawn back to at some future point this season."

Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
