'Arrow' Season 3 Spoilers: Ra's al Ghul Will Be 'A Very Different Kind Of Big Bad' Than Slade [VIDEO]
In a recent interview, Arrow's executive producer, Marc Guggenheim, spoke about the introduction of season 3's prime antagonist, Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) stating that he will be "a very different kind of Big Bad."

Guggenheim spoke to MTV News about the highly anticipated appearance of Ghul in the latest episode, entitled The Magician.
"In our casting process, we didn't want to go with the willowy, sinewy Ra's that was established in the comics," said Guggenheim. "We wanted someone who would be a formidable physical presence. You can get away with that live sinewy Ra's when it's being drawn by Neal Adams, but when you actually have to put something in front of a camera, we thought it was better to have someone who added a good physical presence to that."

He went onto talk about how Ghul would be a very unique villain in the series.
"He's definitely the main antagonist of the season," Guggenheim said. "He's responsible for a lot of the events that kick off the year, and reverberate throughout the season. He's our Big Bad, and he's a very different kind of Big Bad than we've had, Malcolm Merlyn and Slade Wilson."
Speaking to TVLine, Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen, also dished about Ghul's entry being a memorable one for fans.
"If you're a fan of comics, you're really going to enjoy the reveal of Ra's al Ghul - like, the first frames of seeing him," he said. "That's going to be pretty cool and create a lot of chatter."
The Magician aired on October 29 on the CW.
The next episode of Arrow will air on November 5.
