Mindy (Mindy Kaling) and Danny (Chris Messina) have had their own fair share of problems in their relationship recently on The Mindy Project, but their romantic struggles are about to take a backseat to Peter's (Adam Pally).

Peter Loses Lauren For Good?

After losing Lauren (Tracey Wigfield) to Jeremy (Ed Weeks), Peter needs to find someone new to be with-and Tamra (Xosha Roquemore) Morgan (Ike Barinholtz) desperately want to help him out. The two will set him up on a blind date in the Nov. 4 episode, Caramel Princess Time-but a love connection may not truly develop between Peter and Abby (guest star Allison Tolman) after Peter makes some pretty serious mistakes before the date even truly begins.

In a preview clip for the episode, he arrives at the restaurant and unknowingly gets into a conversation with his date-and he won't be leaving her with a great first impression.

Mindy Questions Her Sexuality?

"What's your date's name?" she asks him in the clip after learning he too is meeting a blind date at the restaurant.

"Abby," he replies.

"My name is Abby!" she says.

"The Abby that I'm meeting is actually really tall...gorgeous...and for lack of a better word, African-American," Peter replies.

However, his date could also make a semi-off first impression as well, as she too will have some pre-conceived notions about her date that won't make her believe that it's Peter-until they realize with shock that they are each other's plans for the evening.

"Well I'm meeting a doctor who looks like Meatloaf," she says. "Or it might have been a meatloaf. I'm not sure. My friend Tamra wasn't really clear."

"Tamra, huh?" Peter asks.

The Mindy Project airs Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. on FOX.
