The Mentalist will return to CBS at the end of November.

Simon Baker Teases Jisbon Hiccups On 'The Mentalist', What Is Next For Jane & Lisbon

The Simon Baker drama will open its final season on Sunday Nov. 30 at 9:30 p.m. ET due to Sunday night football (9 p.m. PT) before moving to Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Jan. 7.

After pressing the plot reset button after the death of Red John in season 6, the seventh season of The Mentalist will pickup not long after the events of "Blue Bird." Now that Patrick Jane (Baker) and Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) are an item, the series will kick off its 13-episode run with the optimistically titled "Nothing but Blue Skies."

Actor Tim Kang announced the series cancellation back in September.

"This is our 7th and final season," Kang, who plays FBI Agent Kimball Cho, tweeted. "Looking at the scripts now, it's so fun and such a great season!"

While it is unknown how The Mentalist will chose to make its final bow, Baker hopes the program won't have a fairy-tale happy ending.

"Personally, I think he's a tragic figure," Baker explained to the Philippine Daily Inquirer "To me, when we were putting the character together in the very early days, he was a tragic character. Like all the great love stories-'Romeo and Juliet'-there's tragedy. I always felt that. But I get shouted down."
