USA athlete Erik Kynard has made it into the 2012 London Olympic Games Men's High Jump Final on Tuesday. However, while many are impressed to see the Toledo native achieving success on his quest for the gold, he has been receiving plenty of buzz due to a pair of seemingly lucky yet infamous USA socks he's been sporting.

The Olympic sensation's mother, Brandynn Adams had the following to say regarding her son's honorable fashion statement, according to K-Stated:

"He has always been a little fashionista," she said. "There are seven years between Erik and my next child. He was a little spoiled. We made sure to keep him in the latest fashions, and he grew up to love fashion. We have always kept him dapper," proudly stated Kynard's mother.

Former roommate Jeffrey Julmis also touched on the high jumper's passion for fashion. Apparently, their Manhattan pad had run out of closet storage space due to Kynard's extensive clothing taste.

"He probably has the most shoes out of everyone I know in the history of my friends," Julmis said. "He has a lot of shoes and a lot of clothes. His closet overflows," claimed Julmis.

Kynard has allegedly been wearing loud socks since his early years at Kansas State, as he feels as though track attire can be a bit boring. Hence, it is the 21 year-old's way of making a stylistic statement.
