It looks as though things have just gotten pretty dark for Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott. Rumor has it that the actor is on suicide watch now after he contemplated taking his own life, due to all the criticism he's been receiving in the press these days.

According to Access Hollywood, McDermott admitted that he had suicidal thoughts after his affair with Canadian fan Emily Goodhand was revealed and that he hasn't been able to shake off all the criticism he's been receiving lately. What's more, the actor also reveals that he's quit the couple's reality show, True Tori, and that he would rather get back to work on a scripted show.

He told the site, "I've learned a lot from this whole process. From the affair, from doing the show ... I almost lost everything, everything that means anything to me. I don't want to ever do that again. I don't ever want to be in that dark place again where I wanted to take my life ... I was driving around in my truck with a loaded 9 mm. I was put on a 5150 at the UCLA psych ward. [My son] Liam had a performance and I didn't want to miss that performance ... I had plans that night to do it."

As far as his reality show, he added, "I'm not going to continue with the show. We have five more shows left ... I can't do this anymore. I can't keep opening a vein, opening my soul and sharing my feelings and thoughts and demons with the world."

McDermott said that while he won't be returning to the Lifetime reality show, he will be back on the small screen, thanks to a small part he got on a rather huge television drama.

He said, "I see myself on a scripted show. I'm getting back to my roots, I'm getting back to acting ... I went out an auditioned for a [part] on a CSI and got it ... [it's airing] December 14."
