Despite the fact that Witches of East End will not be back for new episodes, there is still a possibility that some cliffhangers might get resolved.
'Devious Maids' Actress & 'Witches Of East End' Cross-Over Chatter
On Thursday, Entertainment Weekly discovered that Melissa de la Cruz, the writer of the East End novels, is working on a new series called Triple Moon: Summer on East End that could have a connection to the other series. These books will revolve around teen witches named Mardi and Molly Overbrook who are sent to live with their "Aunt" Ingrid in North Hampton after a horrific accident occurred at their school, likely caused by their magical powers.
Ingrid is supposed to teach them how to control their magic and she won't be the only East End character to make an appearance; Freya and Killian are also expected to be part of the series.
'Witches Of East End' Is Officially Cancelled
De La Cruz mentioned that she would like to work this out so the cliffhangers from Season 2 can have answers, but it's not for sure just yet.
"I have asked producers if there is no hope for the show, if I can weave in some of the cliffhangers from season two so I can resolve them and bring closure," the writer told EW. "I have an idea on how to do it, but we'll see. It's a legal issue so it might not be able to fly."
De La Cruz also revealed that even though she's not sure what the turnout will be, she's hoping for the best.
"I have no idea if it will make a difference, but who knows?" she shared. "It's amazing to hear from so many people who love the show."
