'The Librarians' TNT: Meet Jake Stone, Christian Kane Dishes On Character's Back Story [VIDEO]
The Librarians' Jake Stone will take quite a bit of his back story from a familiar face - actor Christian Kane.
'The Librarians' TNT: First Five Episodes Announced, Major Plot Point Revealed
One of the Metropolitan Public Library's newest additions, Stone will enter the TNT series as an Oklahoma oil worker with a penchant for art history and an IQ that could give Scorpion's Walter O'Brien a run for his money.
While Kane's IQ is unknown, much of Stone's story applies to him.
"John Rogers wrote the role as an art history major and I was - at the University of Oklahoma - I was an art history major until I switched degrees to beer and women. So he sort of incorporated that into the character," Kane explained to The Daily Quirk. "And the guy's from Oklahoma, which I am. My dad was a hardworking blue-collar oilman, and that just happens to be sort of where the story is going with this."
The series will pickup quite some time after The Librarian trilogy left off, but the Scorpion Brotherhood will still be a major problem for Flynn Carson (Noah Wyle) and his guardian Eve Baird (Rebecca Romijn). After they save Stone from the Library's evil nemesis, his similarities with Kane will come to an end when magic comes to the fore.
"We're all finding out what magic is," Kane explained. "We didn't even know it existed and all of a sudden we're thrown into the Library."
