'Captain America 3' Movie News: Crossbones Becoming Bigger Character Says Frank Grillo, Has Multi-Picture Deal With Marvel [VIDEO]
After showing up as an ally at first, and then eventual villain, it seems like there is still a lot more time to establish an opinion of Crossbones in the Marvel universe as the actor teases that he will be appearing in more movies.
What Is Marvel's Civil War & Why Are Iron Man & Captain America Fighting?
In an interview on Friday with Collider, Frank Grillo talked about his future with the Marvel franchise and what fans could expect from his character after the short meeting during Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
"Yeah. I have a multi-contract deal with Marvel. The movie was an origin film for that character. If you know the comic, he has a significant presence," Grillo said.
One Character Might Stop The Fighting Between Captain America & Iron Man
"So, knock wood. With Marvel, you can't say very much, but I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll have some fun, in the next few Marvel movies."
Crossbones has the potential to play a big villain role when it comes to future Marvel movies and HYDRA, which seems to be where the character is headed following the events that he ended with in the movie.
One possible scenario is introducing the character as a full-fledged villain in the Black Panther standalone movie. The film could have large HYDRA presence with the organization looking to lock up vibranium for use on their future weapons and armor and could have Crossbones go in to fight Black Panther and the members of Wakanda.
But most likely, the character could pop back up again in the next Captain America movie (with a brief introduction to Black Panther) and show that he is now an agent of HYDRA and is looking for some revenge with Steve Rogers.
