It looks like one Longmire star just might pick up a new hobby while the show awaits word of a new network beyond A&E for season four.

'Full Speed Ahead' For 'Longmire'

Last month author Craig Johnson released his latest Longmire book Wait for Signs. The crime drama is based on Johnson's book series, but this time the author got a special introduction to the book written by series star Lou Diamond Phillips (Henry).

In responding to a fan's post on Twitter recently, however, it looks like this might just be the beginning for Phillips.

Find Out How 'Longmire' Is Changing Hollywood

On Sunday Phillips received a compliment on his intro, at which point he revealed that writing had in fact been something he was interested in before he became an actor.

Upon hearing this, fans eagerly continued to respond to the comment, claiming the actor has a talent for the craft.

If fans get their way, Phillips could be on his way to writing a novel of his own before the next season of Longmire even airs. At present the crime drama is without a network, but producers are continuing to bring the series before places like Amazon, Netflix, TNT, and USA with the hope that the series will get picked up soon.

If Longmire does manage to find a new network, it will likely return for a fourth season during the second half of 2015.
