Herzog had been seeking help from Dr. Phil McGraw (of Dr. Phil), having made a couple appearances on the show own the past. A new trailer (featured below) for an upcoming episode of Dr. Phil shows Dr. Phil showing up at Herzog's house with the young Survivor winner looking back at him with clear disappointment in himself.
"I've got a major drinking problem," Herzog admits to Dr. Phil in the trailer. "I can't stop."

"You're hallucinating," Dr. Phil tells him, "You oughta be dead. I am not giving up on you, kid."
Dr. Phil informs him that they are going to leave in five minutes as Herzog's mother, Shirley Herzog-Keeler, hugs him in a heartbreaking moment, saying "I'm not gonna let you die, Todd!"
The severity of Todd's situation was made evident from his first Dr. Phil appearance. He was apparently drinking up to 24 gallons of vodka per month before committing to staying sober.
Todd will be given an intervention on the episode that airs Thursday, Nov. 13. According to RealityBlurred, he is appearing in the Friday episode as well.
Coby Archa, who played in Survivor: Palau, wrote a Facebook post on Friday in which he explained what was going on behind the scenes.
"Sad to report what some of us have known was going on behind the scenes that Todd Herzog has relapsed," he wrote. "Thank god for Dr Phil and what he is doing. I know a lot of people don't understand his commercializations of people's pain and problems. But I promise you his family NEEDED help and Dr Phil has been there when there was nowhere to turn. I am so proud of you Shirley Herzog-Keeler for loving your son enough to get him help. Simply heartbreaking and much love is needed for this family during this time."
Todd was a contestant on Survivor: China where he won the $1 million against Courtney Yates and Amanda Kimmel.
