Supernatural's Sam and Dean have never connected Kansas' "Carry On (My) Wayward Son" with their lives, but the 200th episode will quickly change that.

The Kansas tune is well known amongst Supernatural fans, having served as the tearjerker finale theme song since season 2. As the CW drama goes meta for "Fan Fiction," however, the Winchester brothers will see their lives - and the iconic song - played out on stage (see video below).

Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will investigate a sting of disappearances at an all-girls school during Tuesday's episode, and the hunters will be shocked to find that the teens have adapted Carver Edlund/Chuck Shurley's Supernatural novels into a musical.

"It's almost a salute to the fans," Padalecki told Entertainment Weekly, while Ackles explained that the series really pays attention to its fans. "They've really been champions for us for so many years, and it really is why we're sitting her today talking about a 200th episode. I think this is really a tip of the hat to that."
