The Voice contestants took the stage on Monday evening for the first round of the Live Playoffs.

'The Mentalist' To Have Super-sized Finale, How Many Episode Will Air At Once?

The first installment of the three-night event, Monday's episode put team Blake Shelton and Team Adam Levine on the chopping block. In the wake of the Battle Rounds, each team has five contestant remaining. After two nights of performances, the number will be knocked down to three.

Each contestant will have the chance to be saved by public vote (two members per team), by their coach (one member per team), the public's instant save, or by gaining extra voter points by landing their latest song on the iTunes top 10.

For Team Adam, Matt McAndrew performed the Beach Boys' God Only Knows, Chris Jamison took on Ed Sheeran's Don't, Taylor Phelan gave a rendition of Echosmith's Cool Kids, Mia Pfirrman tried her hand at Lana Del Ray's Young and Beautiful, and Damien performed Sam Smith's Not The Only One.

Meanwhile, Team Blake's James David Carter sang Garth Brook's Two of a Kind, Workin' on a Full House, Jessi Pitts performed Bonnie Tyler's Holding Out for a Hero, Craige Wayne took on Some Kind of Wonderful, Taylor Brashears gave her rendition of the Dixie Chicks' Long Time Gone, and Reagan James sang Colbie Caillat's Try.
