The Snow Queen (Elizabeth Mitchell) is another in a long line of villains whose backstory has been fleshed out to reveal some humanity on ABC's Once Upon a Time.

Emma Might Be A Danger To Henry

The most recent episode of Once Upon a Time featured an examination into the Snow Queen's past, revealing that her evil ways were more due to her being a victim of circumstance than anything else. Mitchell spoke with TVFanatic recently and teased a scene in the next episode that examines the darkness within her.

"There's a scene in the next episode that one of the characters says to my character 'You walk in the way of darkness,' like you walk the dark path, and I found how telling that is because she is corrupted," Mitchell explained, comparing her to Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle). "She's a corrupted person, she walks on the dark side, so I think they have that in common."

Mitchell also previewed that fans will figure out what the Snow Queen whispered to Rumple at the end of Sunday's episode.

"Yes! We will find it out," she promised. "I mean, I had it figured it out and I kind of have to put it all together and I got it right so it's very possible that all the thoughts that people are putting together are fairly accurate. But, yes, we will find that out for sure."

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
