In honor of Veterans Day on Tuesday, Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans released a series of statements on Twitter thanking all service men and women, and in particular one veteran who is very close to her heart.

Evans' boyfriend Nathan Griffith, who is also father to her four-month-old son Kaiser, served in the armed forces. As one of "the most important people" in her life, the MTV star only felt it right to pay tribute.
Happy Veteran's Day ! Hope you guys have a great day and thank you for protecting all of the families and people of our country!

And to one of the most important people in my life thank you @GroundLevelUp for your help keeping our country safe! pic.twitter.com/zgigHIb5LW — Jenelle Evans (@PBandJenelley_1) November 11, 2014
While Evans' message proved to be heartfelt and sincere, she quickly became defensive after reading some negative comments from haters about Griffith. Immediately she stepped up and criticized their "harsh words" as she defended her family.
For all of u stating @GroundLevelUp doesn't need to be thanked cuz he didn't "truly" serve ... If u only heard the stories about him

In the military and being deployed and the videos I have saw from his deployments U would be apologizing to him for ur harsh words. — Jenelle Evans (@PBandJenelley_1) November 11, 2014
Evans wasn't merely offended by their disregard for her boyfriend, but for the armed forces in general. The reality star and mother of two reminded followers and haters alike that protecting one's country is no laughing matter and should not be taken for granted.
The amount of stress and trauma these men go through is no joke. We all live our lives everyday not thinking about it but honestly

They r out there protecting all of us from harm being shot at and killed so U can live ur happy a-- the way u do today being ungrateful. — Jenelle Evans (@PBandJenelley_1) November 11, 2014
Eventually Evans managed to calm down, bringing things back to her initial message, which was one of love and respect.
I love u @GroundLevelUp and in my eyes U will always be my hero.
