On Tuesday True Detective Rumors reported that a rumor has surfaced suggesting that the popular crime drama, which was supposed to begin production this month, isn't ready to start.
While Collin Farrell (Minority Report, Saving Mr. Banks) and Vince Vaughn (Into the Wild, Wedding Crashers) were confirmed as the male leads in September, the network has taken much more time in announcing who will star in the primary female role.

Originally Rachel McAdams (Mean Girls, The Vow) had been in talks for the part, winning out over rumored contender Elisabeth Moss from AMC's Mad Men.
McAdams was even considered a done deal in Variety on Sept. 25, but as HBO has not officially announced the actress's involvement, it's possible that the series has run into some complications.
Already considered by fans to be behind schedule, this could impact the new season's premiere date, which has been aiming for halfway through 2015. Creator and writer Nic Pizzolatto has remained quiet on the subject, refusing to reveal more than a few details about the upcoming episodes. The story will take place in California, focusing on government corruption and murder.
If everything does manage to continue on schedule, True Detective will return to HBO for a second season mid-2015.
