'X-Men: Apocalypse' Movie News: Wolverine & Deadpool Team-Up Headed For Third Film, Could Hugh Jackman Work With Mercenary? [VIDEO]
As another X-Men character gets his own movie, one of the biggest names in the brand gets ready for his third. But could both characters team-up in that third movie?
Hugh Jackman revealed this summer that he would be shooting X-Men: Apocalypse and Wolverine 3 back-to-back with the latter movie possibly concluding the trilogy of standalone films for the character. But with Deadpool emerging, could this include a team-up for the two characters?
While it is well-known that Deadpool shows up in the first Wolverine movie (also played by Ryan Reynolds), the backlash to the character was what started the online push by fans and eventual director Tim Miller and Reynolds to get a solo film made. Now with a February 2016 release date, the hero will join the X-Men universe.

Wolverine and Deadpool have worked together multiple times in the comics and depending on the reception of the character in the solo film, Fox could look to either keep bringing out the character (after a positive one) or give him one last try through a team-up in a Wolverine movie.
By doing this, it would put the character next to a familiar and well liked character and allow Reynolds to work off of Jackman to create some comedy and action moments. It would also spice up the Wolverine movie and allow Fox to work on some crossovers for the future with other X-Men characters in other films.
Wolverine 3 is expected out in 2017.
