It seems like the shit is going to start hitting the fan with the next episode of The Affair, the preview for which just released.

In the preview things start to spiral out of control as Oscar (Darren Goldstein) sets the bomb ticking. In the last episode, Oscar had already started to threaten Noah (Dominic West) and Alison (Ruth Wilson), letting them know that he had a hint about what was going on. He also pretended to call the cops on Ruth's family's drug business, but there is not telling if he might have called them for real, as in the promo for the next episode, a detective shows up looking for Noah. This is the same detective that appears to be interviewing the couple seperately as they narrate their story in flashbacks.

In another part of the clip, Noah and Helen (Maura Tierney) start to deal with the tension in their marriage, and Helen confronts him. Meanwhile, Oscar also starts to blackmail Noah, and Noah is seen approaching his friend Max for money and help. Ruth is not any safer as it seems like her family, husband Cole (Joshua Jackson) and her mother-in-law are catching on to things.

In other related news, it was recently revealed that Showtime has renewed The Affair, for a second season.

The premiere of Showtime's new drama caught the attention of critics, and has viewers hooked with its Rashomon-styled narrative.

The show premiered on October 12 and revolves around Noah, a writer struggling to pen his next novel. and Alison, a waitress at a diner as the duo recall their affair for a mysterious interrogation. The fans aren't made privy to the subject of the interrogation in the first episode. Both Noah and Alison are married, while Noah seems happily married with four children, Alison's marriage is tumultous over the loss of their only child.

The next episode will air on November 23.
