He was suspended for potentially botching Rafe's brain surgery on purpose, but after the newest developments in the case, Patrick (Jason Thompson) will finally learn whether or not he can return to work on General Hospital.

Sam and Patrick Discover Something Shocking

He has been in limbo for months, after his comments that he wanted revenge on Rafe for inadvertently killing his son Gabriel were leaked to the press. Now, with the revelation that Nina (Michelle Stafford) was the one who sold him out and made him look guilty, and the review from the hospital board, Patrick will finally learn his fate-whether he will officially be released from the hospital or allowed to resume his duties as a neurosurgeon.

"The board has made its decision," Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) tells him in a preview clip for the Tuesday, Nov. 18 episode.

Sonny's Murder Case Becomes More Complicated

Meanwhile, outside of the hospital, Michael (Chad Duell) has made a shocking announcement that he no longer wants to carry Sonny's (Maurice Bernard) last name and wants to officially adopt his biological last name of Quartermaine. And with his now being a part of the family in both blood and name, he will make more changes to keep himself in power at ELQ-including putting Tracy (Jane Elliott) in her place.

"Your days of messing with ELQ are over," he tells her.

And as he moves to make sure things are done his way, he will also begin working to clear AJ's name in Connie's murder. He paid Sonny and Carly (Laura Wright) a visit in jail to demand the recording that cleared AJ of the murder and instead revealed that Ava (Maura West) had been the one to shoot her. Now, Sonny will enlist Shawn (Sean Blakemore) to deliver the recording to Michael, in the hopes that helping to clear AJ's name will eventually help his son to one day forgive him.

"I need you to do something for me," he says in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
