Tuesday evening country singer Randy Travis was arrested and charged with a DWI after Texas state troopers found the belligerent star naked and combative at the scene where he crashed his car on a road west of Tioga, TX.

According to TMZ, moments after word got out about Travis' arrest, local attorney Gary Corley rushed to the jail in order to help out the naked "Whisper My Name" singer. Corley offered Travis his bright orange Texas Longhorns hat, and Travis was photographed sporting the cap when exiting the jail after his bond had been posted.

Other Texas locals joined Corley in helping the distraught country star, with one local man even offering to post Travis' cash bond right away.

Corley told TMZ that Sherman, TX is a close-knit community where the people take care of each other. He believes it was his duty to "do the humanitarian thing" and help Travis in his time of need.Corley met briefly with Travis within the jail walls, and offered up his baseball cap so that the singer would have more privacy when faced with the looming paparazzi cameras lingering outside.

Although Corley had a car waiting for Travis if need be, the unidentified man who posted the singer's bond already had transportation lined up, so Travis took a ride from him.Reports have it that Travis has yet to officially hire an attorney. According to Corley, he'll be there right away for the country crooner if his services are needed.

In the released mug shot of Travis at the time of his arrest, the singer is pictured bruised and cut-up after he began to retaliate against the cops making his arrest. In a belligerent stupor, Travis allegedly "made threats to shoot and kill the troopers working the case" while being transported to jail.
