Nicole Kidman Collects $16 Million on NYC Apartment
Actress/singer Nichole Kidman isn't satisfied unless she has a great view of the Hudson River, so one lucky buyer now has ownership of the 12th floor apartment at 176 Perry Street in New York City's West Village. According to The Real Deal, Kidman sold her 3,785-square-foot apartment in the Richard Meier-designed building in July for a grand total of $16 million.
Kidman bought the property back in 2003, but after construction on another Meier tower at 165 Charles Street began, resulting in a blocked view of the Hudson River from Kidman's own apartment, she was disappointed. It was time for the Academy Award winning actress and her husband Keith Urban (along with their two children) to sell.
The "Moulin Rouge" star originally listed the luxury apartment as a rental unit, costing $45,000 a month. Although the Halstead real estate agent Richard Orenstein declines to comment on the sale, the property was never officially listed on the market.
The celebrity couple owns another New York City apartment, a penthouse at 200 Eleventh Avenue. They also own a home in Sydney, Australia.
