The 21-year-old NFL rookie who has the nickname, "Johnny Football" is now becoming "Johnny Baseball" again since Topps announced Sunday Nov. 16 that they'll be releasing his baseball card as a San Diego Padre in the upcoming packs of 2014 Bowman Draft set starting Dec. 10 as reported by Beckett News.

Manziel was drafted in the 2014 MLB Draft back in June to the Padres in the 28th round. Why was he even drafted if he was drafted in May during the 2014 NFL Draft to become a quarterback for the Cleveland Browns as a first-round pick? Well, Manziel was listed as a shortstop for Texas A&M, but he had not stepped foot on the baseball diamond since his junior year of high school. FOX Sports reported that he was a "pretty decent" infielder and that he spoke to the Texas A&M baseball coaches about joining the team in 2012.

Manziel can be seen below in a video throwing out the first pitch at a Padres game last summer, which is the extent of his baseball career.

As history shows though, Manziel did not join the team and instead went on to win the Heisman Trophy that year after throwing for 3,706 yards and 26 touchdowns as a redshirt freshman. He went on to have an outstanding college football career at Texas A&M until he declared for the 2014 NFL Draft.

So "Johnny Baseball" may exist as a baseball card, but professionally speaking he's still a quarterback for the Browns who might even start soon. Earlier this month, the general manager of the Browns, Ray Farmer, said, "I do think [Manziel] can be a starter in this league," as reported by Sports Illustrated.

The baseball card according to FOX Sports will be slim to find especially the autographed version, which will drive up the value.
