In an unexpected moment, the comatose Charlie (Griffin Gluck) finally opened his eyes after months of not being able to on Red Band Society, but his continued treatment at the hospital could result in some issues for his care team.

Everything Goes Crazy After Nurse Jackson's Suspension?

Dr. McAndrew (Dave Annable) was shocked when Erin (Mandy Moore) and Nurse Jackson (Octavia Spencer) went behind his back to bring in specialist Dr. Naday (guest star Adrian Lester) to take a look at Charlie, and with the newest developments in the young boy's condition, he will become even more suspicious about the new physician-and the tension between the two doctors could spell trouble for everyone.

"Dr. McAndrew is sort of on the fence about Dr. Nandy because he believes that he's right in the treatment of Charlie," Annable explains in a preview clip for the Nov. 19 episode, Get Outta My Dreams Get Into My Car. "And Dr. Naday comes in, and there's a little bit of a sort of turf war, and we'll see where that takes us over the course of the season."

Charlie's Life At Risk?

Of course, while seeing another doctor come in and start caring for his patient is tough on McAndrew, the news that Charlie opened his eyes is still something that everyone wants to celebrate-especially Nurse Jackson, who was reinstated right before he opened his eyes.

"Nurse Jackson is dancing for joy because her favorite patient has opened his eyes and that's what she has been praying for," Spencer says in the clip. "And I get to break the news to the rest of the red band group."

Naturally, the rest of that group-Leo (Charlie Rowe), Jordi (Nolan Sottillo), Emma (Ciara Bravo), Dash (Astro) and Kara (Zoe Levin) will also all be thrilled, and the quest to help Charlie progressing will once again result in some outside shenanigans and adventures beyond the hospital walls.

"Anytime someone leaves the hospital, something interesting happens and it's a story that they take back to the hospital with them, so this is definitely like one of those moments," Astro says.

Red Band Society airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on CBS.
