BBC and BBC America have just announced that they are bringing back the hit show for a two-part miniseries. And even better, star Idris Elba will return to star as the title character.
According to Yahoo! News Luther will still be one whose "brilliant mind can't always save him from the dangerous violence of his passions."

Neil Cross is also on board to come back and write the series, which is set to be two hours long and premiere in 2015. It will air not only the U.K. but fans in the U.S. will also be able to watch it. Production is set to be kick off in March.
Cross released a statement with more details.
"Ever since we said goodbye to John Luther on Southwark Bridge, there's hardly been a minute when I didn't wonder what happened next. So I decided to find out. We're putting the band back together; Luther is going back where he belongs. Back to the BBC. Back to London. And back to work."
Fans began to fall in love with Luther when it debuted on BBC One back in 2010. After three seasons and 14 episodes, it was taken off the air - but not before Elba snagged a Golden Globe for his role as the detective.
Ruth Wilson also starred in the show for the first three seasons as Alice Morgan, a known sociopath. It has not been reported whether she will return for the special as well.
