Rounding Up The Happenings Of The Jodi Arias Retrial
Arias' defense team had expert witness Dr. L.C. Miccio-Fonseca on stand for quite a few days now, providing information about Travis Alexander's struggle over who he was, which led to the disclosure, "love played a part in this killing," as reported by Radar Online on Thursday.
Miccio-Fonseca is a psychologist who is heavily educated in sexual relationships. Miccio-Fonseca examined various messages between Alexander and Arias.
Prosecution Digs Into Jodi Arias' Defense Team's Expert Witness
Since Miccio-Fonseca read through the messages between Alexander and Arias while on stand she insisted Arias was a compliant participant in the relationship since she stayed with him even though in various messages he called her a "whore," among other degrading things.
Miccio-Fonseca previously testified on Monday as reported by Radar Online that Alexander only wanted a "below the waist" relationship with Arias. "Ms. Arias wanted Mr. Alexander to love her outside the bedroom," the doctor said while on stand and concluded, "He couldn't do that."
Arias' defense team is hoping to convince jurors that Alexander's control and manipulation of Arias should be mitigating factors in deciding if she should be put to death for brutally murdering him.
Miccio-Fonseca further revealed while on stand Thursday that Arias was under extreme emotional distress due to the relationship she had with Alexander. Alexander in one message called Arias a "three hole wonder," while referring to her sexual talents. "You are good for something," he said.
It all ultimately amounted to Arias murdering him, which is what the defense team is trying to convey. They want the jurors to see that the man she loved emotionally abused her.
Outside of the retrial, Arias' parents have taken to YouTube to thank those who have donated to their daughter's funds for her legal team and they also asked for further donations. The video is below.
The retrial resumes Monday, Nov. 24.
