'Downton Abbey' Season 6 Premiere: Mr. Bates Could Wind Up In Prison Or Even Dead, Actor Says 'Everything's Finite' [VIDEO]
Downton Abbey still has time before its fifth season premieres in the United States, but some insight is already being explored on what's about to take place in Season 6.
'Downton Abbey' Adviser Reveals Something 'Quite Difficult' That One Of The Actors Had To Do
On Thursday, Huffington Post released an interview with actor Brendan Coyle who plays Mr. Bates on the series. The fifth season aired in the United Kingdom where one of the last moments showed Anna being taken away by the police for the murder of Mr. Green- but that doesn't necessarily mean she's guilty.
When Coyle was asked about his future on the show, he remained coy as he gave the impression that he seemed a little nervous talking about it.

"I can't go there with that," the actor said while stirring his tea. "Everything's finite. We can't go on until the 1960's, that would be weird."
Considering that the characters won't be continuing for that long, he seemed to imply that Mr. Bates may not be around for too much longer. Does this mean that he's going to take the fall for Anna and say that he was the one who killed Mr. Green? And if so, is he telling the truth or does he just want to save Anna? Plus, will he wind up in jail for the rest of his life or could he get something as serious as the death penalty?
Downton Abbey Season 5 airs in the United States on Sunday, January 4 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS. Season 6 is expected to air in the United Kingdom in late 2015.
