Oscar Pistorius Murder Trial: June Steenkamp Claims Reeva Was Olympian’s ‘Arm Candy’ [VIDEO]
June Steenkamp continues to speak out against Oscar Pistorius.
June Steenkamp Releases Memoir Retailing Her Thoughts Of What Happened To Her Daughter Reeva
Steenkamp recently spoke to BBC World Service's Outlook sharing more details about Reeva's relationship with Pistorius.
Steenkamp stated Reeva never mentioned Pistorius initially and Steenkamp found out about him by seeing him walking a red carpet with her daughter. Steenkamp divulged, "She kept very quiet in the beginning." She went on to reveal that Reeva told her they began to fight a lot and she wasn't sure if they were compatible with each other.
June Steenkamp Believes Oscar Pistorius Saw Her Daughter Reeva As 'A Trophy'
Apparently, he treated Reeva like "his arm candy." He attempted to dictate what Reeva wore, how she spoke and how she behaved prior to killing her on Valentine's Day last year. This was all revealed through messages that were sent back and forth between Pistorius and Reeva during court.
Steenkamp revealed Reeva once called her to tell her Pistorius was recklessly driving. She said, "One day she phoned me and said, 'Mummy, Oscar's driving like a lunatic.' And I said, 'Well, you just put him on the phone.' And I said to him, 'If you hurt my baby, I will have you wiped out.' Obviously I didn't mean I'm going to kill him. Just trying to scare him. And apparently I know the one friend that was in the car said he slowed down immediately."
She also mentioned that in a relationship of only three months "love makes you very blind to everything. You're just happy and that wasn't the case."
Steenkamp revealed that Reeva had a present for Pistorius for Valentine's Day, but she believes he didn't have one for her.
Below you can watch a video posted in April by TVRuckus of Reeva's parents exclusively speaking out about the death of their daughter and what Pistorius did.
