Sons of Anarchy actor Jimmy Smits recently previewed the final two episodes of the FX series, teasing that the finale is pretty "heavy-duty."

Smits recently spoke with Yahoo's Kimberly Potts about the conclusion of Nero's arc, especially after the truth was revealed about Gemma (Katey Sagal) murdering Tara (Maggie Siff). As it turns out, Nero might not be done with Gemma.

"The caveat here is: You're in a world where people are involved in murder," Smits observed. "And this guy has participated in that, but in the construct of what we've seen from him over the three seasons that he's been around, there's always been this kind of allusion to a higher power - the fact that he's sober - to religion in some way.

"He won't go to a shrink; he'll go to a priest and unload on a priest. If you use that as part of the construct, then there's always the possibility of forgiveness. That's my interpretation of it. And so, yeah, there's always the possibility. Yes. We should fight for the possibility that somehow you can walk away from this."

He added that for Jax (Charlie Hunnam) it's all about finding a way out of Charming and its "mayhem." Similarly, Nero must find his way to forgiveness.

Directly asked about what fans can expect from Nero in the final episodes, he suggested that it won't be a good time for the character.

"Well, don't get too happy," he said, bluntly. "What did Nero do in Rome? He watched it all burn, right? The hand of the reaper, Kim. All-powerful."

As for his reaction to the series finale, it appears that he was greatly affected by it.

"It's going to take the audience for a... it's going to be heavy-duty."

Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
