Does Miles Morales Work In The Spider-Man Universe & Could We See Him Soon?
They add that one of the core narrative flaws of the most recent series was killing off Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy, which they call the emotional core and one of the things the franchise was doing right.
The site does bring up good points and is right to say that a good movie would fix everything. Batman was dead in the water in the 1990s after the last two movies caved, but Christopher Nolan revived the brand with Batman Begins and now the rest is history.

Andrew Garfield and Stone or not, the brand is struggling and Sony is going to have to do something to bring people back to what is one of Marvel's most well-known superheroes.
