The Mentalist's Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon could leave the FBI behind when season 7 comes to an end.
The couple is adjusting to their new relationship, and the sudden change may prompt the pair to make a few other changes.
"This season is very much about the reconfiguring of that relationship that has been based on a mission, on a shared desire," series creator Bruno Heller told Enstars. "That mission is now over and they have to find out: As much as they love each other, how can they live together? And what will they do with their lives?"

Jane (Simon Baker) was thrown into the world of law enforcement merely as a means to an end. While he may enjoy using his intellect to solve cases for the FBI, Robin Tunney (Lisbon) believes the Mentalist might be ready to move on with his life.
"He didn't want to work in law enforcement. It was settling this personal score," Tunney explained to Enstars. "And now he's there and I think he's wondering why he is there. And I think that's a really interesting thing to explore because it's honest to the character."
But will Lisbon want to break up the team?
