While some vessels, such as Hanna's Caroline, return to their pre-possession life unscathed, many fans believe that Castiel's (Misha Collins) Jimmy Novak is long since dead and gone.
Cas' season 9 ability to reside in his meat suit without his grace and his recent referral to Jimmy as someone that "was" a good man indicate that this may be true. Writer Robert Berens, who penned "Girls, Girls, Girls," addressed the issue via Twitter on Wednesday.
"This question will be addressed in more depth soon, so mum's the word for now," Berens wrote.
Considering Cas executed an Internet search for his vessel during Berens' episode, viewers can expect the storyline to pick up quite quickly. In just two episodes, Cas will come face to face with Mr. Novak's daughter, Claire.
A pre-teen when viewers first met her in season 4, Claire is now near the end of high school, and her life has gone drastically downhill since Cas entered the picture. With her mother missing and her father gone, Claire will be in a group home when Cas finds her in "The Things We Left Behind." Will the angel offer to allow her to speak to her father, or is there zero chance that Jimmy is around to involve himself in that conversation?
