'Jurassic Park 4' Spoilers: Chris Pratt's Character's Relationship With The Raptors Is 'Complicated' In 'Jurassic World' [VIDEO]
In a recent interview, director Colin Trevorrow, spoke about Jurassic World and peoples' reaction to the trailer for the movie.
Gory Stills Of The Diabolous Rex In Jurassic World Leaked?
Speaking to Empire magazine, Trevorrow, spoke about some revelations in the trailer, like Owen (Chris Pratt) seen racing on a bike with the raptors. He explained how the scene is not to be misjudged as the raptors being a friendly bunch, and how Owen also has to play caution around then.
"Owen's relationship with the raptors is complicated. They aren't friends," Trevorrow said. "These animals are nasty and dangerous and they'll bite your head off if you make the wrong move. But there are men and women out there today who have forged tenuous connections with dangerous predators. That's interesting territory to me."
Jurassic World Storyline To Be Very Different From Previous Movies In Franchise
The director also addressed fans' anticipation to see a new breed of dinosaur that is supposed to be a threatening new presence in the movie.
"There is no shortage of awesome [real] dinosaurs. We could have populated this entire story with new species that haven't been in any of these movies," he said. "But this new creation is what gave me a reason to tell another Jurassic Park story. We have the most awe-inspiring creatures to ever walk the Earth right in front of us, but for some reason that's not enough. We're always hungry for the next thing, and those who profit from it are always looking to feed that hunger. The focus groups want something bigger than a T-Rex. And that's what they get."
Jurassic World also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Irrfan Khan, and Vincent D'Onofrio.
The Jurassic Park films are based on Michael Crichton's series of novels about pre-historic beasts being revived by revolutionary gene technology. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are co-producing the film alongside Steven Spielberg, who directed the first two installments in the franchise. Irrfan Khan and Ty Simpkins also star in the movie.
The film will hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
