'X-Men Apocalypse' Movie News: Rebecca Romijn Down To Play Mystique Again, Could Her Version Collide With Jennifer Lawrence's In Next Movie? [VIDEO]
While she didn't show up during the reunion portion of the last X-Men movie, it seems like one former star from the franchise would like to join the party once again.
Digital Spy reported on Tuesday that Rebecca Romijn is interested in returning to the series as Mystique. The actress played the role in the first three movies before the role was re-cast for a younger actor with Jennifer Lawrence in X-Men: First Class, even though Romijn made a cameo.
Romijn told Digital Spy that she is "absolutely" willing to return to the franchise for future installments. She added that she had "talked a lot" with Lawrence about the Mystique character and the rigours of applying the blue-skin make-up.

"But from what I understand, her make-up is very different from the make-up I went through. I don't think she had to go through everything that I went through," she said.
"It sounds like [she had an easier time] - although my theory is that going through nine hours of make-up, you're in such a rotten mood, you can't be anything but evil - it turns you into the villain that you need to be to play Mystique properly!"
While Romijn didn't make an appearance in the latest feature, which included the return of many of the original cast members, she could maybe make her way into the next movie. There is always the option of time travel and with the focus of the story being on the relationship between Magneto and Mystique, it could mean she pops up again to help out Lawrence's version.
X-Men: Apocalypse comes out on May 27, 2016.
